About Ellen

I have two years of early childhood education coursework and was on track to earn my CDA. I worked at the CDCLR @ Virginia Tech from Feb 2019 - to Jan 2020 and the Bruins Beginnings Preschool for about two years, and Hokie Hangout this previous summer. During my time there, I planned and taught lessons, documented progress, and assisted lead teachers and administration. The majority of my experience is with 18mo - 5-year-olds. I continued my child development studies in college at Vanderbilt University where I am currently majoring in Cognitive Studies and minoring in Child Development. I'm also a research assistant in a lab that focuses on early childhood (Stress and Early Adversity Lab). Through my courses and prior experience working with children, I've learned how to work with them one on one on developing concepts and apply these experiences in my tutoring.
