Hi My name is Liz. I am a 25 yr Brookfield resident. I am 52, a mom of 2 grown children & looking for p/t work. Although I have never been an OFFICIAL (pd) "nanny" or adult caregiver before, I have held jobs teaching at schools, camps & my own businesses. This involved taking care of and being solely responsible for their well being! I cared for children of all ages, mostly teaching ages 5 to adults & subbing as an aide for the Brookfield Schools. I have worked with many special needs people over the years from teaching horseback riding to volunteering with my dog, cat & horses as animal assisted therapy pets. I was a special needs teachers aide sub for the Brookfield, CT School System for several years. My degree in Education was from PACE University in 1979, and I had classes in Special Education. I am very patient and kind. I have been a mom of 2 and surrogate mom, grandma to MANY! I have an empty nest now so my time is flexible. I also volunteer at the local senior center providing animal assisted therapy wth my dog, cat & horse! I am only looking for P/t work, BUT can put in f/t hrs on an as needed basis. I can also stay over as needed. I also own and operated a pet care service for almost 10 years and have been on CARE.com for years. I have my CDL license to drive a school bus. I have been checked, cleared & fingerprinted by CT State & FBI! You can also check with my references listed. I am extremely punctual! I actually enjoy helping with homework. Obviously I have a VERY clean driving record & am used to transporting "precious cargo" (children, horses & pets!) My last ticket was in the 1980s! Please call me at your earliest convenience or reply via email or through this website anytime, DAY OR NIGHT. ** THERE IS one PROBLEM; I had surgery 5 weeks for a hernia. It was laproscopic, but I can't do any heavy lifting for a bit longer. I could start immediately, as long as that was okay. According to my doctor. I CAN drive, cook, care for my animals, & do laundry, so I am not THAT incapacitated! BUT LIFTING your child over the next week or so MAY be an issue. *CPR & FIRST AID - need to be renewed
