My daughter, 8 at the time, often displayed maladaptive behavior and was very particular with her belongings. As a single businesswoman, I struggled to provide consistent care. Liz, whom I found through a family friend, watched my daughter on several business trips to Vegas and San Diego. She communicated effectively, provided much-needed structure, and wasn’t afraid to say ‘no,’ which previous sitters wouldn’t do. Initially, their relationship was rocky, but my daughter eventually warmed up to Liz and adored her. Liz’s conflict resolution and de-escalation skills impressed me. Liz often traveled with us but also cared for my daughter at her place, where she got along well with Liz’s daughter, Y. They enjoyed board games, pretend play, reading in the inflatable sensory boat, and playing on the trampoline during rainy seasons. Now, at 10, my daughter doesn’t need much childcare, but I wouldn’t hesitate to call Liz again for any future needs. She is reliable, empathetic, caring, patient, and understanding.
