About Elise

As a recent UTD physics graduate, I have worked with advanced mathematics for over half a decade now -- including Calculus 1 through 3, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations and so on. Despite not having to take humanities classes for my degree, I have always had a strong understanding of the fundamentals in these subjects and scored 5s on the AP English Literature and Composition exams. As a kid, I strugged in math, even with topics as fundamental as times tables, and, as a young woman, had a hard time finding my place in the STEM field. These struggles have allowed me to more intimately understand how and why learning can be a daunting and scary experience. It requires more than just a mastery of the subject; it requires fostering a comfortable, calm, and confident mindset with the learning process. It would be an honor to be able to enstill this confidence in young students as they go through their academic careers.
