Very disappointed. Our biggest complaint is, out of the 5 times Ellie babysat, she was late 3 times. The first time she was 25 minutes late, second time she was 10 minutes late, and the third time she was 40 minutes late. This resulted in me calling in to work and her being fired. I always contacted Ellie the night prior to babysitting to reiterate the schedule and confirm she would be there. She always had excuses and behaved nonchalant that she was late. She also always felt the need to text us prior to the time we were expected to be home to ask if we were on our way yet. The one time my husband was sleeping after working midnights and she texted him while he was sleeping to ask if he was on his way home. We had told her he normally wakes up around 2pm and she texted him before it was even 2pm. Other than being late, other issues were that she had to be reminded to feed our 2 year old. The first morning our LO had been up for 2 hrs and my husband noticed on the nanny cam that she had not been fed yet. He had to call and ask Ellie to feed her. She never made meals for our LO to sit down and eat. Mostly just snacks and finger foods. The last time she babysat my LO was given 2 hot dogs to eat for dinner while just running around and I came home to gogurt smeared all over my couch with no attempt to wipe up the mess. Ellie spent most of each day on her phone while letting our 2 yr old just watch TV all day long. We had a long discussion prior to hiring that we wanted our little one to be engaged in activities and going outside to play, not just sitting and watching TV. Ellie on multiple occasions referred to this position as a babysitting gig and treated it like so. She did not treat this like an actual job and had no care that her tardiness caused me to be late for my career. With all that being said, Ellie is not reliable and not responsible.
