I have taken care of an infant with cerebral palsy. At first it was extremely sad, but the more I was around her the more I saw how happy she was to be alive. I also have a nephew with a rare disease called MCAD, in short, he body cannot process fat to energy. So he can consume nothing over two grams of fat and has to eat every seven hours. This has caused my family and I to be more aware of what we eat especially since he isn't old enough yet to know that getting a hold of something like chips would be bad.
