About Eling

Eling is a star. She is an extraordinary nanny and person and I recommend her without any reservation. Eling was our children s full time nanny for about 10 years. Later, she worked for us part-time as our children no longer needed a full-time nanny. We have known Eling for 18 years and consider her and her family like an extension to our family. She began with us when we moved to LA with our 2 year old daughter (18 years ago). We found her through a top-end nanny agency and could not have been more pleased. Little did we know that she would help us get through one of the hardest things any parent can experience, the birth of a child with health problems four years later. Our second daughter was born with major congenital heart defects and had two open heart surgeries before her 1st birthday. Eling was the only adult, outside my husband and I, that our daughter did not cry around. With so many medical procedures that first year, she was wary of everyone, except Eling. Eling was painstakingly attentive to all of her needs; she kept track of every ounce of milk or food she ate (we were asked to do this by her cardiologist) and she alerted us to any other concerns. She treated our children with the same love and concern an engaged parent does. She read to them (in both Spanish and English in fact my second daughter is quite good at speaking Spanish), played with them, bathed them, took them to the park, cooked for them, taught them Spanish (and English), celebrated achievements, attended dance performances, went to the hospital and the list goes on and on. (She would also tidy the play areas and clean up after the kids and any cooking she did for them.). All three of our children love Eling and were very sad to see her move away from Los Angeles! From an employer perspective, she is a gifted, bright, devoted, warm, and extraordinarily responsible person. It is also very easy to communicate any needs you have to her. Over the course of ten years, I never missed an important meeting or even a single day of work due to child-care issues. She is always up-beat and was a bright light for us during some very difficult times with our second child. I really can t imagine a better nanny!!
