I am a mother of two adult men with over 30 years of experience working professionally with children and hold a degree in SPED Pedagogy from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. I am a semi-retired tiny home dweller with a rare autoimmune disease (MCTD) and grew up with a sibling with ASD. I love nature hikes, museums, wilderness camping, fly fishing, and a curiosity for life & learning. It is rare that MCTD limits my abilities outside of heavy lifting. I utilize the child-lead, Reggio Emilia approach and understand that adults are guides in a child's experience and focus on at-level independence versus assuming control. I encourage first, versus taking over. My philosophy is to observe first and quickly adjust my approach to meet someone where they are in that moment.
