About Eiryn

Hello! My name is a Eiryn, and I am a Reading Specialist at an elementary school in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. I have my Master's Degree in Reading Education, and I am a certified K-12 Reading Specialist and a K-6 teacher. This is my second year at my current school and my third year teaching. In my instruction, I utilize various research-based programs and strategies to target students' academic and instructional needs. I additionally focus my instruction on the various components of reading education, including phonics, phonemic awareness, fluency, and comprehension. As an educator, I inspire students to become lifelong learners, and I value building strong, trustworthy relationships with students. I maintain a positive attitude and patience with students to help them achieve success. I additionally take time to plan engaging lessons that meet the students' interests and academic needs.
