My elderly father lived alone in Reedville, and Ed helped him stay independent and in his home for almost 2 years as his mental and physical health declined. Ed helped with meal prep, trips to town for groceries, pharmacy, and doctor visits and helped out around the house. Most importantly, he was a lifeline to me out of state in keeping better tabs on my dad and his condition. I've since moved my dad to a long term care facility, but Ed was around during a critical time when my dad was in decline and allowed him to keep his independence and dignity for much longer than he would have been able to on his own. I'd hire him again in a heartbeat.
