I feel that we have lost the art of truly caring for older people. We need to see older people as people who are still valuable to God and therefor to us. We can learn so much from their experiences, if we take the time to, and not look on them as burdens. They cared for us when we needed it, now it's their turn to need it. I took care of an elderly woman (95) for 2 years, and worked at an Assisted Living Facility in Illinois before moving here to Virginia 13 years ago. I was a companion. to a 90/91-year-old here in Virginia for a year before she went to live with her daughter.
