For the last 10+ years I have taken care of children and adults that just needed a little more love and help to make life easier and more joyful for their families. In my last 2 nanny jobs, I worked with families that included extra special kiddos. In non COVID times, our days were spent on adventures and outings focusing on social skills, and fulfilling passions and interests. We had supervised play dates to engage meaningful friendships, and also enjoyed time at home cuddled up on the couch or doing arts and crafts or cooking. I was often a liason between therapists and home, and bc of my background in education, I was also able to facilitate adaptations for school work and tutoring to make the content less overwhelming and the kiddos successful.
