I have 43 years of caregiving experience and 30 years of it has been working in skilled nursing facilities. The nursing facilities are where I found my passion for caregiving. Caregiving gives me great joy as the one rending the service as well as the one seeing the benefit that the client gets from the service being rendered. There you had many patients without families and needed that special love and care that the caregiver could give as they render the care. There you have multiple patients with all types of diagnoses and are mostly all of them were wheelchair-bound. I had 2 private clients that were quadriplegic and 1 private client with MS and 1 private client that had ALS and 3 private clients that were Amputees and several private clients that had a severe stroke leaving left-sided paralysis using wheelchairs and Hoyer lifts for transfers. And I prepared special diets for some of the clients that had diet restrictions due to medical reasons. Caregiving is my life, I love it.
