I'd describe my personality as empathetic and passionate. I like tutoring because I have been a substitute teacher for nine years where I have worked one on one, in small groups and in classrooms. I am also a volunteer at Literacy Council where I tutor adult learners. I'm looking for a job that allows me to work with children who are behind in basic educational skills. I am also eager to help adult learners and ESL or Special Education students. I have experience with Downs Syndrome and Autistic Learners. I started tutoring when I started substitute teaching in 2015. In my spare time, I like to read, cook, exercise and play my piano. I also enjoy time with my family and going to concerts and musicals. One thing you should know about me is I am dependable and reliable. My skills include consistency and to present materials targeted to student needs. I am able to build excellent and critical relationships. I am willing to negotiate the pay in some circumstances.

Donna worked in my 2nd grade classroom as a building substitute and also spent her time as a tutor for students needing support with classroom work. Donna is dedicated to building a connection and a rapport with the students. She is passionate about teaching and helping the students understand the material using different strategies that meet their needs. Donna took extra time to observe lessons in order to best connect the strategies to the students' understanding of the material. I would highly recommend Donna as a tutor.
