As of June, I will be caring for a child with Kabuki syndrome for two years. I didn't have any medical background, but I do now. My education was hands on. The precious little guy was born premature due to a heart defect and was diagnosed seven weeks later. He was also born without an anus so he had one created for him. While healing from that, he had an colonoscopy bag that was changed daily. I have taken him to OT, PT and speech weekly, spent many days in the hospital with him due to operations and illnesses. Daily, I give him meditation via GJ tubes, make formula, replace feeding bag and tubes. The goal is for him to compress enough so he can fast for most of the day. He's 2. 5 now and each time he gets again there is a setback and the fasting has to start over again. I check blood sugar while he's fasting. I have reliable transportation, clean background, non smoker, and pet lover. I consider myself reliable, dependable, detail oriented and also a kid at heart.
