I am originally from Minnesota and went to college at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. I obtained my bachelor's degree of science in elementary education with a minor in health education. I am currently licensed in grades 1-6. I have experience teaching second grade in an urban school in St. Paul, MN as well as teaching summer school for first graders in a suburban school district in MN. I also have experience as a substitute teacher with grades 1-6, as well as a variety of special education classes. I have tutoring experience with elementary and middle school students in math, writing and reading comprehension and experience tutoring students who are English language learners. My tutoring experience was for students who were behind in their grade level as well as students who wanted to be ahead of the curve and challenged. I got my degree in education, because I love working with children and being apart of there learning success.

We hired Devon to help us out with Distance Learning last school year with our 4th and 2nd graders. Our (then) 2nd grader is a slower learner and needs extra assistance with reading and writing. Devon was the perfect addition to our son's learning experience during a very abnormal school year. Our 4th grader had difficulty focusing and staying on task during distance learning and Devon did a great job with encouraging and motivating him to remain focused. She is patient, firm but fun, kind and knowledgeable. She went above and beyond to provide helpful learning tools for our boys too. We couldn't have been more happy with how our time with Devon went! We would definitely re-hire her again. Not only did the kids enjoy having her here but we enjoyed getting to know her too. She became part of our family and we will continue to stay in touch with her.
