As the oldest of 4, I naturally had a knack for childcare. I started babysitting for my family member's young children around age 14, and at age 16 I got a job as a summer camp counselor at the YMCA. I continued doing that the following summer, being promoted to a specialist counselor that year. At the end of that summer, my camp director asked if I would like to stay on as an aftercare counselor for the school year, which I happily obliged to. After the end of that school year, I did some summer babysitting for a few families I had formed close bonds with. I realized I do better with a couple kids rather than a room full of them! I've taken a hiatus from working with kids, as my personal life has changed a lot over the past year, but I would love to be an occasional babysitter for some families. Working for the YMCA in childcare had me go through many hours of training for any situations that may arise, as well as first-aid training and CPR training. Feel free to email with questions!
