I'd describe my personality as fun, approachable, and sincere I grew up with my aunt, Nanette, who had Down syndrome. She lived with my nuclear family since I was about 12. For the last six months, I lived with her, helping her caregivers, as well as being her full-time overnight caregiver. She has changed my life, and has made me reconsider my purpose. She recently passed, and I feel compelled to continue to bring joy and laughter to the lives of those like her. I started caring for people with special needs about six months ago when I moved back home to Pennsylvania from California, to live with and care for my 57-year-old aunt Nanette. Nanette had Down syndrome but also acute dementia in her last months of life. This required a lot of care and levity when approaching her mood swings and confusion, as well as a lot of patience. In my spare time, I like to go on long nature walks. I love to read. I love listening to music and doing yoga!
