About Desiree

I spent the summer caring for my father who has type II diabetes as well as brain cancer. My father underwent surgery to have the tumor removed and had to learn to walk and use his hands all over again. I spent the summer not only cooking and cleaning for him but organizing medications, planning healthy meals, making sure he made it to his appointments and did his physical and occupational therapy "homework" and exercises. I worked with the physical therapist and learned safety precautions and how to help in case of a fall. I am a nutrition major and I enjoy preparing healthy meals. I also am a Navy veteran. I have my own transportation as well as a clean driving record. I understand how difficult and emotionally straining having an elderly or ill parent can be. If you choose me to help with your parents care I want you to know I will treat them like family and support you in any way possible.
