About Deshawn

Bonjour! I am a middle and high school French teacher in an independent school in Atlanta, Georgia. As a non-native speaker with a near-native accent and a great understanding of the French language, my strength is understanding the habits and hesitations of English speakers to understand and speak French. I am the former director of the French Alliance of Atlanta and have an extensive global career in the public and nonprofit sector in the United States, Africa, and Europe where French was my primary language of communication. I hold a BA in International Affairs, graduate credits in International Development, and Certificat Pratique de la Langue Fran aise from L'Institute de Tourraine, in Tours, France.
