About Deniz

Caregiving is not just something I do, it's something I deeply care about. From 2020 to 2023, I was the full-time caregiver for my father, who battled dementia. I handled all aspects of his daily living, including managing medications, preparing meals, attending doctor's appointments, and assisting with dressing. His condition often led to moments of agitation, and I developed skills in redirection and calming techniques. I also made it a priority to bring joy to his days by taking him on walks, playing games and kicking around a soccer ball to keep his spirits up. My experience taught me the importance of patience, empathy and creating meaningful moments of connection. I am a proud member of a local Alzheimer's Committee, where I dedicate my time to raising awareness for those affected by the disease.
