I have worked with individuals with special needs for about 7 years. While in high school, I was the babysitter and tutor of a child with autism. I worked with him every day after school. I drove him to appointments and programs. I worked with him on academic and social skills. Later, I worked as a camp counselor, activity director, and program leader at Camp Royall. During my time at camp, I provided care for individuals with Autism. I also planned activities to fit their needs and interests. More recently, I worked as a resource teacher in an elementary school in Wake County. I worked with children in grades K-5 with varying needs and skills. I love working with children with special needs of all ages. I am passionate about teaching children self-advocacy and life skills.
