About Deedee

My career in Caregiving started with being hired as a Companion/Personal Chef for a lovely elderly lady in Blowing Rock 7 years ago. The following year when she came back to her summer home mentally she remained sharp but her body had started to fail, I was then asked by her family if I would be interested in becoming her fulltime Caregiver and of course I excepted. We had fun together... we laughed, played Scrabble, rides on the Parkway, anything that she wanted to do. I took her to doctors appointments, administered medications, assisted in the restroom, weekly hair appointments, (I often styled her hair and did her make-up), I would bathe her, painted her nails, massaged her feet and legs (spa day as we called it)... I also prepared 3 meals a day (she looked forward every summer to fresh tomatoes that I grew behind her house). Through this experience I have realized that I found my calling, bringing people happiness and making them smile during the most important time of their lives

Deedee is very energetic, positive and physically strong. She will tackle any task with enthusiasm. She's an excellent cook, being a trained chef with considerable experience in several aspects of culinary arts. She is intelligent and has great sympathy for all people, especially for those in need. She is a self-starter, able to see what needs to be done in any situation. She has a loving spirit and is very affectionate.
