I am a mother of two children, one having special needs. In my formal training to receive my teacher's permit I specialized in children with special needs. Because I am a parent and have raised my children, now in their twenties, I have learned patience, as well as how to be firm when the occasion calls for it. I have always believed that a teacher should have three important qualities: patience, tolerance and love of the teaching profession. I have been teaching for 13 years and I have always marveled at the power of learning and the ability of children to absorb information. I like to use whatever knowledge I have to better children.
