When I was 10 my youngest sibling was born with Down Syndrome. My love for them is what propelled me into wanting to work with children with special needs. In high school, I was involved in Best Buddies, Challenger Teams, Special Olympics, and I nannied other children with Down Syndrome. When I started college I began to work with children with ASD. From babysitting, I became a Behavior Technician and have worked as a BT for three years for Autism service companies. From this job, I have learned and acquired a variety of experiences/techniques on how to motivate kiddos and reduce problem behaviors. I am passionate, patient, caring, and very attentive to children's needs and safety. I have experience working with non-vocal children, children with aggressive or self-injurious behaviors, bolting, noncompliance, and tantrums.
