About Shannon

I'm 25 years old and graduated college in 2021 with a B. S. in Psychology with a concentration in ABA. I have been watching kids since I was 10 and since then I have been a mother's helper, babysitter, or nanny for numerous families; the number of children varying from 1 to 6 and the ages varying from infant to 16 years old. I love being outside, animals, arts&crafts, DIY sensory activities, and music. I have lots of experience working and providing care for children with special needs, including but not limited to Down Syndrome, ASD, nonvocal, behavioral challenges (aggressive, bolting, noncompliance), and dual or triple medical diagnoses. For three years I worked as a Behavior Technician for ABA therapy Companies, but I grew up with my younger brother who has Down Syndrome and was a nanny for him and several other children with special needs. I have learned many techniques/strategies to motivate children, increase positive independent behaviors, and decrease problem behaviors.
