Hi families! I have always known I wanted to be around children, for their curiosity and open hearts. I consider myself lucky to have taught infants through third grades, as well as raising six incredible sons. I've been nannying (newborns - 5 yrs. of age) since 2016, after retiring from public school teaching. Guiding them through their milestones & providing activities that match their interests and needs, is rewarding and fun! My nannying had been in San Diego until moving back up to Chico late October. Currently, I am enjoying nannying for two wonderful families (5-month-old and 2 yr. old sweethearts) and I am open to also occasional babysitting in the evenings. If you are in need of occasional evening care, please consider me. I would love to meet with you and your little one(s), to see if I would be a good match for your family when you are out and about or need an extra hand at home in the evening. We have known Debbie since she's started as our full time nanny in 2016 when my daughter was a little over a year old. She has grown with our family including caring for my second child after he was born, not to mention our fur babies/dogs as well! Now that the the kids are in school full time we don't have a need for a full time nanny but still call Debbie over to help out whenever we have a need and love her like family. She is a special person; kind, patient, honest, loving, responsible, hard working, gentle, and respectful. My kids adore her. Her two superpowers are her gigantic heart which has so much love to share and her ability to really listen to, understand, and form mutual respect with the children she cares for. If this weren't enough, her experience as a prevoius elementary school teacher shines thorough in her teaching ability, art projects, and love of books. Debbie is amazing and any family that is lucky enough to cross paths with her here should not pass up the opportunity to hire her!
