About Deanna

People describe me as kind, funny, patient. When tutoring, I'm better able to focus in on each child's' specific needs and measure growth more precisely. I'm looking for a job that allows me to use my teaching skills while I'm off in the summer while helping prevent the "summer slide" so many students experience. I started tutoring when I started teaching in 2003. I have tutored on and off throughout the school year and over the summer. In my spare time, I like to read voraciously! I tend to read a novel or two per week. I also enjoy theme parks and spending time with my friends, family, and three dachshunds! One thing you should know about me is I am passionate about closing achievement gaps and making sure that all students are set up for success in school. My skills include tutoring elementary students in all subjects, middle school students in ELA/Reading and social studies, and high school students in ELA/ Reading, social studies, and test prep.
