About Dayton

I spent the first two years of the pandemic living with and caring for my grandparents. This became my full-time job until July 2022, when they reached the top of a waitlist at a home specializing in memory care. They are both settled there still today. My grandfather was 92 in March 2020 and my grandmother was 88 when I moved in. My grandfather's dementia diagnosis was our primary concern, along with all the essential tasks like meals, medication, appointments, and daily routines. 7 years prior, my other grandmother began declining due to Alzheimer's disease and it became a daily responsibility for me to stop by daily to check in, if not to make a grocery run or take her to appointments. I'm so grateful for both experiences and am looking to find more work in senior care.
