I enjoy working with children and adults with special needs. I have had experience working in a nursing home and assisted living with elders. What I especially liked about working with elders is getting to know each one as a person, the connection in this area very valuable to me. I also have a special place in my heart/life for children that have challenges as my wife and I have one of our own. We were foster parents for him at 9 months old and then chose to adopt our little guy when he was 2. He is now 10 years old and the apple of our eye. He was born with medical issues but has gotten past a lot of them. He still has a trach which he has had most of his life and has autism. I am a certified CNA, Phlebotomist and QMAP. My wife is an RN as well. We have had nurses in our home due to his cares from the day we brought him home and I have been an active caregiver for him since that time as well (2002). My wife and I also have 3 grown children. I believe caring for others is a special calling and not just a job. I knew from a young age that some day I would get the chance to help others in a special way; give back if you will.
