About Davida

I'd describe my personality as curious, enthusiastic, encouraging I like tutoring because it provides the best opportunity to make an impact teaching through listening to the student, coming to understand their skills, strengths, and level of skill and understanding, and to instill curiosity, critical thinking skills, and a love of learning and wisdom that they can carry through life whatever path they may choose. I'm looking for a job that allows me to gain experience teaching and dip my foot into the education world without spending >$100k to get a teacher certificate. I started tutoring when I was 15. I gave guitar lessons out of my parent's house. Then I tutored Philosophy, writing, literature and liberal arts throughout my 4 years as an undergraduate at Lewis & Clark College in Portland. In my spare time, I like to read old books, draw, paint, journal, study, listen to audiobooks on walks outside in nature, sing, play musical instruments, and listen to educational podcasts.
