Hi, I'm David, CNA from Bloomington. I have 10yrs experience & I really enjoy it. I started at MN Masonic Home for 3yrs in the TCU, Transitional Care Unit. I learned a lot there, working with all sorts of people with different ailments. It was a great place to learn & build my skills, plus a highly regarded, great facility in general. My experience is quite vast I'd say, from all ADLs & cares to calling doctors & nurses about issues, keeping calendars/schedules in order, driving to & from appointments, helping with therapies- PT, OT & speech therapy, medication management, & much more. I also have a great deal of experience with dementia/Alzheimer's, Parkinson's & many other ailments/diseases. I see my job as a mixture of caregiver (primarily) & personal assistant type work- driver, cook, housekeeper, friend, & whatever else I can help with. David did a wonderful job care-giving for my 85-year old parents in their home. He was punctual, considerate, a good manager of their medications and a great driver to their various medical appointments. My mother was especially challenging as she had a severe bout of delirium after a prolonged hospital stay, but David was calm and steady through the weeks it took for her to recover. My father uses a motorized wheelchair and is tube fed and David took care of all of his needs with compassion and respect. We were lucky to find David and recommend him highly.
