I worked with mod/severe special needs for several years in a high school setting and was an Elementary/Middle School Counselor, at a school including an Autism center, for 15 years in FCPS. Relationship development and therapeutic mentoring are foundational to my helping approach to children/young adults as well as their families. I have volunteered at Inova pediatric unit over the years and have EOLS ( End of Life Specialist) certification through Hospice. My 21-year-old son is awesome and severely disabled. As a result, I have a great deal of personal experience and comfort with issues ranging from immobility, ventilators and g-tubes to ostomy bags, hearing aids and inability to communicate.

I couldn't say enough about Dave. He has consistently been such an amazing support to my family and our special needs daughter. It is so hard to find people that you can trust with your child, especially when you have the "difficult child". Dave is the most patient, dependable, and caring person that I've met in a long time. He is the reason my husband and I were finally able to take a date night more than once a year, the reason my daughter was able to attend a special needs summer camp for the first time, and the reason I got to go to church consistently (without being paged out of the service every week). He is very invested with the families that he works with and really cares about special needs kids. He's a gem and I wish there were more people in the world like him.
