I recently moved to Plattsmouth, NE from Virginia where I spent the past 3 years caring for an 85-year-old gentlemen with Dementia in his home. My shift was Monday at 11 a.m. - Thursday between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. During this time my responsibilities were preparing meals, light housekeeping/maintenance, assisting with bathing/dressing, medications, laundry, taking care of the animals, mobility assistance, transport/accompany to appointments/hospital when needed, taking vitals, keeping daily reports, as well as picking up scripts and grocery shopping when needed. I also met with the In-home and once a month to discuss clients' health and Rx changes if needed. Created time sheets for employees, and a daily logbook to include Vitals, Rx's with pictures, meals and notes. Assisted with scheduling and provided reports to Team Lead and Owner as needed. As his dementia increased, I was transitioned to Full ADL care and End of Life care.
