I truly enjoyed my time spent caregiving for an elderly couple. One of which was nonverbal, with a bit of Dementia, however we still communicated and enjoyed each other's company. The partner was a beautiful feisty flower, yet we made the best of each day, no matter how gloomy the mood. This included 24hr/3-4day at a time weekly care(night monitoring, bath/dress assistance, with special care needed for one of them). Creatively redirected my client's negative & sometimes even hostile feelings, into positive and more calming situations. Putting myself in their shoes, I'm able to sympathize. I became quite the expert in finding ways to distract and entertain, while ensuring their medical needs were met. I believe finding relatable activities to highlight each week can help alleviate the stress of the inevitable inabilities. Their health, spirits and dignity simultaneously a priority. I hope to meet soon and that were a good fit. Your mother sounds lovely.
