I have just recently graduated from the University of Cincinnati with my Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Throughout my childhood, I grew up with a aunt who had Prader-Willi Syndrome. Spending time with my aunt at her group home exposed me to many individuals who had disabilities. I am certain that I am suppose to be working in a field that will allow me to change the lives of individuals who have a disability in a positive way. Throughout my college career I did many volunteer activities and shadowed many speech pathologist where we were working with children with a special needs. I am in the process of applying to get my Master's in applied behavioral analysis or speech pathology. It is just one way I can get a step closer in reaching my goal to help individuals who have special needs.
