After working with children that are in need of special care, my heart for those has only grown stronger. While working at an in-home day care, my responsibilities also included working with my boss's 12-year-old son who had autism. I would help him with his homework, help him prepare his meals after school, and make sure he took his medicine. Along with keeping him active, my focus was keeping him responsible. In 2010, I spent two months in Ethiopia volunteering at a Mother Theresa Home for Children. This orphanage took in many children with a wide range of needs. During my time there, I helped with some physical therapy, but mostly played with, fed, and cleaned the children. Seeing their faces light up warmed my heart and it was a joy to return every day.
