I am currently a school psychologist for grades K-8. I chose this profession because I believe all children have the capability to work to their highest potential and live a happy, fulfilling life. I hold my Masters in School Psychology from Teachers College Columbia University and have over 8 years of experience working with the special needs population. Within the school system, my job as the school psychologist includes providing individual and group counseling services, creating and helping teachers implement behavior plans for difficult-to-manage children, and testing the cognitive, academic, and social-emotional functioning of identified students to discern whether they qualify for special education services. For the past four years, I have also tutored a young girl to help her improve her reading and writing skills. Throughout all of my experiences, I have acquired immense patience, persistence, and behavioral strategies to help children stay relaxed when they are frustrated.
