My name is Daniela and I am an undergraduate student at the University of Maryland. Background: My experience with Special Needs care began my freshman year of High School when I joined the Best Buddies organization for students with Intellectual and developmental disabilities. I fully devoted myself to the organization and was involved for all 4 years. Within those 4 years, I was sent to a fully-paid conference in Indiana, where I received extensive Special Needs care training. I was also Secretary of the organization for two years, as well as President of the entire chapter my senior year. Once I went to College, I joined the Best Buddies chapter at St. Mary's College and continued to participate with special needs children. When I decided to transfer to the University of Maryland, I to this day continue to be a part of the organization. In conjunction to that, I participated in Special Olympic sports (unified bowling/tennis) and volunteered at a public school for IDD
