About Dana

I am a student at UCF studying biomedical sciences and statistics. My education is very important to me and I love all things academia related. In my free time I enjoy working out, reading, and journaling. I currently volunteer at the AdventHealth Children's Hospital in Orlando. In my shifts, I visit and bring art supplies to different rooms and do art activities with patients. My favorite part about volunteering in this department is having the opportunity to foster a welcoming and positive environment for the child I'm working with, and seeing them feel safe to express themselves and enjoy their time making art. I also volunteer as a mentor for a child in Ghana with a non-profit organization. I love creating lesson plans for my student and having the opportunity to advance my teaching skills. Seeing my student progressively get better at English each week is truly rewarding and inspiring.
