About Cynthia

Retired from teaching Spanish 1-4, AP, IB, grades 5-12. I volunteer with First Act Theatre Arts and have helped direct and manage their props department. Working with kids of all ages is a joy! I'd describe my personality as calm, warm and engaging. I like tutoring because one on one teaching is so effective and allows me to hear concerns and address them as well as make learning fun for a tough subject . I'm looking for a job in which I can help kids feel good about what they do know and not focus on what they don't; building confidence by overcoming obstacles. I started tutoring when I began teaching 30 years ago and have done so off and on over the years in my neighborhood . In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family, read, write, watch and participate in theatre productions. One thing you should know about me is that I am very organized. My skills include identifying a problem, breaking it down to specifics and creating strategies to overcome and succeed.
