About Crystal

Education was taken very seriously in my family. We were taught with strictness and not a lot of patience. Seeing the toll it took on my spirit as well as others made me want to change this approach. Yes, I learned, but mostly through fear. I fell in love with reading and writing at a young age because they were pleasant escapes from the rigid discipline. However, by age 11, my joy of writing short stories paid off. My teachers let me read them to the kindergarten and first graders. The warm, welcoming responses fueled my determined spirit even more. By age 15, I was helping at daycare centers and libraries after school by reading to and entertaining the children. Shortly after, I started doing tutoring and homework assistance jobs. Here it is, over 15 years later, after working in numerous daycare centers, schools, after-school programs, and privately love of learning. My motto: Every child's mind is Bright. Ready. and Mighty.
