About Courtney

I started out as a babysitter, tutor, and live in nanny (at 16) in my hometown; as a foster mom and daycare provider as a young adult; and I've specialized in the care of newborns, young infants, and multiples since 2010. In between I've volunteered with LGBTQ youth, women's and children's advocacy groups, CASA, and a number of gardening and environmental groups. I feel at ease communicating with neurodiverse and nonspeaking children, and as someone with ADHD myself my attention is largely focused on figuring out what makes children feel understood and fulfilled. I have been certified as a foster parent (Oregon), a professional nanny (Northwest Nannies), and have taken a significant number of trainings for volunteer positions. I studied psychology and completed a minor in gender studies at Portland State. I'm looking for families to collaborate with as I work toward a degree in Occupational Therapy.
