I began working with special needs individuals in elementary and middle school where I worked with students at my public school as well as my neighbor. In high school I was an active participant of Best Buddies, and spent time weekly with students of various special needs. At Providence College I volunteer at Adult Literacy working with adults with special needs. I also have experience working with Special Olympics throughout high school and college. I do not have specific training but I have a lot of experience and I love working with these individuals. It has truly been an amazing part of my life! I have spent several hours caring for, playing with and entertaining these individuals and I would love to continue that. Additionally, I am currently a graduate student at Boston University studying to earn my Doctorate in Occupational Therapy. Through this program I have begun to learn several skills that could assist me in this role as a caretaker.
