I have 10 years of teaching experience teaching 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades as well as teaching the school-wide gifted program. I was awarded Teacher of the Year while teaching in Tx. I love of working with kids with learning disabilities. I was certified with dyslexia training in TX, which is something not currently offered to NM teachers. I am trained on coaching kids on executive functioning (ie.. planning, impulse control, organization, etc) with which all kids, but especially kids with issues that impact learning such as ADHD and autistic spectrum disorders, may need. My goal as a tutor is to instill a passion and love of learning as well as teach strategies to do well on the assignments and tests they must be able to pass.
