There are no words to adequately describe the extraordinary man that Collins is, and the life-changing impact he had on our family and my terminally ill father. From the moment we met Collins to now, a full month after my father's passing, he has been a trusted companion, aide, support, and frankly like a member of the family. My dad was high-maintenance and stubborn to say the least, having been fully independent and powerful his whole life. He was reticent to accept help, but Collins immediately disarmed him with his gentle yet strong presence, his vast senior care expertise and skill, his humor, his deep professionalism, and his immense kindness. Collins helped spur in my dad a new love for cooking, and they spent many a morning devising new dishes together and preparing meals. He got my dad eating again! My dad was also terribly lonely, even though we visited him as much as possible, and Collins was the friendliest, most caring addition to our dad's social life. They ran errands together, did craft and "fix it" projects around the house, and Collins was never more than a few feet from my dad, watching him carefully to ensure his safety and wellbeing. Most importantly, Collins was supremely respectful of my dad's dignity and his need to maintain independence as much as he could. He helped with bathing, dressing, and other ADLs, but never made my dad feel like an "old sick man" or a patient. Lastly, the day that my dad became unresponsive and ultimately passed, Collins DID NOT LEAVE my sister or my side. We forced him to go home to get some sleep at one point, but then a few hours later . . . he was back. And stayed with us until the wee hours of the morning when the medics arrived to transport my father to the funeral home. He said, "I won't leave him or you." I'm crying with gratitude and love as I write this. PLEASE do not hesitate for one moment to hire Collins . . . I promise he will change your and your loved one's life for the better. He immeasurably changed ours.
