I have worked as a special education teacher for 10 years, at the Compass School of Boston. Compass is a therapeutic/day school for students grades 1-12. We have a 12+ program. This program helps students that are graduating or just have graduated and works with them to find jobs, understand finances and give them the overall confidence to feel like a successful individual. My experience is lengthy. Compass school has a wide range of students with behavioral issues as well as cognitive, which has opened my eyes up to the many disabilities kids are faced with. Over the years, I have learned so much and create lessons that really get my students excited. Many students I work with are on the autism spectrum, so I am very familiar with all that goes along with that. I have a tremendous love for teaching and love to see someone that was once very scared, turn into someone with confidence.
