Hi! I'm Colleen. I'm an experienced nanny with a degree in Early Childhood Education, Red Cross CPR/First Aid training, and I'm a mom of a 4-year-old and an 18-month-old. My kids come with me. In my experience my kids have been wonderful playmates for my nanny kids and provide valuable opportunities to practice social skills. Still, I offer an industry standard discount on my services for the privilege of having my kids with me. A typical day with me involves outdoor playtime, reading and play-based literacy (or pre-literacy) learning, a wide variety of arts and crafts, and talking singing and signing all day long. I am passionate about nurturing children's curiosity in nature, like I did when I worked at the Ithaca Forest Preschool. I can care for kids at your house or mine. If I'm at your house I like to bring a selection of books with diverse characters and silly rhymes, and novel art supplies to explore. Let me know if you'd like to hear more!

Colleen cared for our kids from December 2018-March 2020 when COVID hit. She is an amazing babysitter. She is always on time and always arrived at our house with new books or crafts for the kids. She is patient, calm, warm, and fun. She has a strong understanding of child development and was comforting and supportive during some difficult phases. She never speaks harshly, instead she always finds a creative way to redirect behaviors. We loved having Colleen as part of our weekly routine. Even after a year of not seeing Colleen because of COVID, when my kids hear that it's Friday they yell, "Colleen day!" I would not hesitate to hire Colleen.
