About Claire

Hello! It's nice to meet you. My name is Claire (although most people call me Mac), and I'm a recent graduate of the University of Chicago who is interested in tutoring and childcare work. I began formally tutoring when I arrived at college and started to work with kids in a local community center, but before then, I tutored informally while babysitting. I most frequently tutor Math and English, and I am comfortable working with ESL students due to my background in Spanish. It's important to me to cater to the particular needs of the child in question; as someone with a learning disability myself, I am used to flexible and interdisciplinary styles of learning. As a babysitter, I am CPR and First Aid Certified, content to cook and do light housework and walk dogs etc, and I am presently flexible in my hours. While I am unable to drive due to a medical history of seizures, I am adept at using public transport (and can take your child on the CTA if you are comfortable with that).
