I have 4 years experience working with teens and college aged students with disabilities. As a disability specialist, I provided support to college students with disabilities. I regularly reviewed diagnostic information in order to make appropriate academic accommodations for students. I also worked 1:1 with students on things like time management and study skills coaching, as well as self advocacy and independent living skills. I also helped students with physical disabilities with tasks like scribing and using adaptive technologies (refreshable Braille, Dragon Dictate, Sonocent). I even used to coach (and play!) an adaptive sports league at Ball State, with both wheelchair basketball and goalball.
